Puffins

Whoever likes puffins has those images in mind; hundreds of them standing, flying nearby cliffs, with a bill full of sand lances.

The chance to see them was one of the highlights of sailing in the Arctic. But I knew these are land things so that I may miss it. What I didn’t realize is how much they venture into the blue. They are proper sea birds.

I couldn’t do a hike to see them on the cliffs, but we had these adorable creatures flying around the boat, accompanying us like albatross during some parts of our journey.

Before, I never saw images of them far from land, and I would have never imagined I would take them. I don’t know If I will ever see them on land or even at sea again. For what I take all these photos as a beautiful prize.
